Installing cPanel & WHM

cPanel is one of the most popular web hosting control panels. It requires a cPanel license (available through your account or third-party providers).

Requirements

  • CentOS 7/8, AlmaLinux 8/9, or Rocky Linux 8/9
  • Minimum 1 GB RAM (2 GB+ recommended)
  • Clean OS install (no Apache, MySQL, or PHP pre-installed)
  • A valid cPanel license

Installation

  1. Log in as root via SSH
  2. Run the installer:
    cd /home && curl -o latest -L https://securedownloads.cpanel.net/latest && sh latest
  3. Wait for installation to complete (45–90 minutes)
  4. Access WHM at: https://YOUR_SERVER_IP:2087
  5. Log in with your root credentials

Post-Install Steps

  • Enter your cPanel license key in WHM
  • Complete the initial setup wizard
  • Create your first hosting account under Account Functions > Create a New Account
